Matthew Edwards
Matthew holds a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and is a licensed civil engineer, structural engineer, and general contractor. Matthew enjoys teaching and has taught various design courses at both Cal Poly and UC Berkeley as well as courses administered by the American Institute of Architects. Outside of work Matthew enjoys swimming, biking, and playing guitar.
Firm History
The firm's principal is Matthew Edwards who established MJE Engineering in 1991. The firm is based in San Francisco, California and offers services in both California and Hawaii. Prior to going into private practice, Matthew was employed by several respected design and engineering firms. In particular, Matthew was mentored by Peter W. Ehlen, S.E. who in turn was mentored by Donald F. Shugart, S.E. who in 1929 was one of the original twelve founding members of the Structural Engineers Association of California.
